Malawi: Guiding young people on a good path
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi (ELCM) supports work with children and young people. In doing so, it provides committed future members and coworkers and people who are empowered to shape the church and society.
The partner church wants children, teenagers and young adults who are committed to the church and society in general. Young people who stick together and support each other - and who are able to share their experience in faith with other people.
To enable them to do this, it trains Sunday school and confirmation class teachers. They also receive appropriate material to do this. The aim is to support young people in the decisive phases of their lives and create an environment in which young people feel comfortable. They should be able to express themselves openly in a safe space in order to explore complex questions that challenge them. Through evangelistic events, the church invites young people to engage with the Christian faith.
Church and worship should be inviting for young people and relevant to their everyday lives. Then they will be able to help shape the church and society in the future.
With your donation, you are helping the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi to train good volunteers and coworkers for such perspectives and thus set a sign of hope for the future.
