Brazil: People in partner church also suffer from severe flooding
IECLB asks for prayer and solidarity
Continuous heavy rainfall led to devastating floods in southern Brazil at the beginning of May. In the state of Rio Grande do Sul, they are considered to be the worst in history.
As of Sunday, 5 May, at least 78 people are reported dead and over 100 missing. Thousands of homes have been destroyed and more than 100,000 people have had to leave their homes. The force of the water masses hit Rio Grande do Sul with full force and caused pain and suffering for many people.
The Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB) and its congregations have been severely affected. It is calling for a campaign of prayer and solidarity in the form of practical help for those affected, which is being organised in many places. We want to stand alongside our brothers and sisters in Brazil in prayer and pray with them for the grieving and desperate people.
At the same time, we want to support the IECLB financially and ask for your donation with the keyword "Emergency Brazil".
