Every year, the ELM's volunteer exchange programme sends young people on an international voluntary service to projects run by its partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Young people are also invited to do voluntary service in Germany.

These volunteer placements are funded by the weltwärts programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

As the ELM still has to bear the costs, it is looking for people to accompany the young people on their assignments and support the programme with donations.
Many volunteers contribute by approaching people to keep in touch with them as part of a support group during their assignment, to support the programme with donations and to share their experiences with them.
