They called the tree Amber
ELM takes part in tree-planting challenge
The sun was blazing down from the sky and the ELM management set about planting a tree. It was to be amber - orange like the ELM, orange like the low sun in the autumn sky.
But as such a tree is heavy and the challenge had to be mastered quickly, the ELM board asked the trombone choir for help. Many thanks for that!
While the trumpets and trombones shone golden on one side, the spades were swung on the other side and the tree was sunk.
True to the motto:
And if the world ends tomorrow, we'll still have an apple pie today.
Now it's time to pass on the challenge:
- Holger Siebert (ELM Director) challenges Bishop Gilbert Filter of the ELCSA Cape Church in South Africa to plant a tree.
- Holger Nerlich (ELM Managing Director) challenges Wiseman Ngobese, Managing Director of the Outreach Foundation in Johannesburg, to plant a tree.
- Heike Brockmann (ELM Finance Officer) challenges the EMW office in Hamburg to plant a tree.
- Ulrich Meyer-Höllings (Head of ELM Public Relations and Fundraising) challenges Luiz Seidel, the youth delegate of the Lutheran World Federation at the COP30 conference, to plant a tree.
