To live hope for the earth

"To live hope for the earth. Justice - Peace - Creation" is the title of a campaign sponsored by the Association of Christian Churches (ACK) in Germany. It is backed by a broad network of churches, regional ACK groups, initiatives and individuals. The Ev.-luth. Mission in Lower Saxony is also involved.

"Churches, congregations, Christian initiatives, educational institutions and active members of civil society should be strengthened in their contribution to socio-ecological transformation. The should develop spiritual resources to overcome crises," is the aim of the initiators. The campaign period began in March and will end with a central event in Dresden from 13 to 15 September.

Until then, interested individuals, groups, institutions and initiatives are invited to work on current issues of justice, sustainability, solidarity, development, peace, democracy or responsibility for creation in creative formats in their own context, locally or digitally.

Planned events can be found on the website hoffnungleben2024.de During the campaign period from March to September a free newsletter will provide information about the campaign's content and successful activities, which can subscribed to here.

"Our hope is that, in addition to exciting and promising local activities, we will succeed in making visible how broad the commitment in church and society to justice, peace, sustainability and the integrity of creation is," says Pastor Jens Haverland, EKD consultant for the ACK on behalf of the campaign steering group.
