Fit graduates eight graduates
The last class of students has successfully completed their studies at the Hermannsburg University of Applied Sciences for Intercultural Theology (FIT).
Now the day has come: The Fachhochschule für Interkulturelle Theologie Hermannsburg (FIT) is celebrating the successful graduation of its last cohort of students. On Friday 19 September, the graduates were awarded their Bachelor's degrees in a festive ceremony on the university campus.
Framed by a musical and spiritual programme, the graduation ceremony took place one day before the FIT farewell party with speeches and greetings: Prof Dr Erna Zonne-Gätjens kicked things off, after which Prof Dr Katharina Kleine Vennekate gave a spiritual impulse with reference to the motto of the day, followed by the address by Rector Prof Dr Andreas Kunz-Lübcke.The fact that the school was about to close and the knowledge that these would be the last FIT graduates made the ceremony even more special and prompted Rector Professor Dr Andreas Kunz-Lübcke to thank the university's employees for the long journey together in his speech. He spoke of a laughing and learning community until the last day - today.
After a greeting from the ELM by Holger Siebert, Rector Kunz-Lübcke presented the graduates with their certificates. The presentation of the certificates was the emotional highlight for everyone involved and it became clear what a bond has developed in this special community. The graduates had brought their families and friends to the ceremony.
The presentation of the certificates was followed by speeches from the graduates. One graduate said:
Everyone was so different, that's what made it so special.
She described the atmosphere as appreciative and benevolent. The other graduates also seem to have fond memories of their studies at FIT. On the walls of the ballroom were a variety of testimonials from students and alumni, which showed the special significance of a blessed time at FIT for the rest of their lives.
After the speeches, the graduates were blessed and left the hall to music. A small reception for the guests and photos of the students rounded off the ceremony.
