Dear friends of the ELM!

This month, to mark World Children’s Day on 20 September, we are delighted to present a ‘hidden object’ picture on the theme of children’s rights. It was created by the Malawian artist Khama Lwanda on behalf of the ELM and its partner churches.

Entdecken Sie alle Kinderrechte? Künstler: Khama Lwanda, Malawi

The ELM works alongside partner churches worldwide to promote children’s rights. In schools and churches, the participation of children and young people is encouraged. Training sessions and awareness-raising campaigns on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child are organised, for example in Malawi and Ethiopia. Prevention and protection mechanisms are also an important aspect of international project work in the field of children’s rights.

As a resource, the ELM has published the children’s rights ‘hidden object’ poster shown above in English. Representatives of church organisations from South Africa, Eswatini, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, India and Germany have selected 12 children’s rights to feature on it. The poster is being translated and will soon be available in German and other languages.

You can view the English children’s rights poster here (please click).

You can also read about the volunteering programme and the new leadership of the Brazilian Church.

With warm regards and best wishes for God’s blessings
