Women's power in Ethiopia
What is the current situation of women in Ethiopia?
What are the most burning Gender-issues? Which obstacles lie on the way of implementing measures to minimise risks or to improve the plight of women and what is EECMY DASSC doing to overcome these obstacles?
Bereket Abebe, EECMY-DASSC Gender Expert and Acting Manager of the Women Empowerment and Inclusive Development Program, will report on this on Tuesday, 1 April, 5 pm South African time & German time, 6 pm East African Time, 1.30 pm Indian Time.
Bereket Abebe will focus on what her church is doing to improve the situation of women. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Gender and Development Studies and a Master's Degree in Practical Theology. Her research has included „Economic Empowerment of Women in Small-Scale Enterprises“ and „Evangelicals Attitudes Towards Domestic Violence Against Women and Girls“.

The event will be organised and moderated by ELM's Gender International Officer, Gabriele De Bona. Following Bereket Abebe's input, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and take part in a discussion. The seminar will be held in English.
Registration before 28 March is requested.
