On Tuesday, 27 May 2025, from 1:30-3:00 pm (German & South African time), 2:30-4:00 pm (East African time) and 5:00-6:30 pm (Indian time), Gabriele De Bona, Gender Secretary of the Evangelical Lutheran Mission in Lower Saxony, invites you to a Zoom event. The topic is 'Gender diversity in the biblical horizon'. The event will be held in English.

The speaker, Mercedes García Bachmann, will give an overview of the topic. She is the director of the Instituto para la Pastoral Contextual (Institute for Pastoral Contextual Studies) of the Lutheran Church in Argentina and Uruguay (IELU). From 1999 to 2016, she was Professor of Old Testament at the Instituto Superior Evangélico de Estudios Teológicos (ISEDET) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has also worked as a visiting scholar all over the world, including in Mexico City, Chicago and Münster. Her research interests focus on feminist hermeneutics and gender studies.

Mercedes Garcia Bachmann has published numerous articles on liberation feminist Latin American perspectives on the Bible and recently the following books:
