May reminds us of renewal, new beginnings, and the power of the Holy Spirit. With gratitude, we look back on what God has already done, and with expectation we look ahead.
On Whit Monday, 25 May 2026, our new Director, Holger Siebert, will be officially introduced into his ministry during an open-air service in the Südheide. We approach this special day trusting that God’s mission draws its strength from His Spirit. We would be grateful if you would accompany this service in your prayers.
ELM will also participate in the 2026 State Garden Show in Bad Nenndorf. Under the motto “Where diversity blooms,” we will kick things off by hosting an intercultural worship service on 3 May, featuring contributions from the global church.
In addition, this issue highlights our exchange programme “The Church Exists Elsewhere Too” with Brazil, the work of the Lutheran Community Outreach Foundation, shares insights from youth ministry in India and Germany, and presents the perspective of a South African volunteer serving in Germany.
We are also hopeful about the exchange with our South African partner churches on the training of lay preachers. Around 40 participants from Germany and South Africa will share their experience in preaching, leading worship, and congregational ministry—offering valuable impulses for our regional church as well. Please keep this important work in your prayers.
Thank you for walking this path with us.
