Dear friends of ELM!

When guests from our partner churches come to Hermannsburg, it is always a special event. Most recently, at the end of September, Thabiso Segatlhe from Botswana visited us as a participant in the "Kirche gibt's auch anderswo" programme. In his home country, he works as a hospital chaplain, among other things. His report on how the church in the Bamalete Lutheran Hospital supports patients and staff made a lasting impression, while his comparisons of the material facilities in German hospitals with those in Botswana provided food for thought.

Another visitor was Pastor Alexander Gross from the German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ukraine. At an evening lecture in the "Auferstehungskirche" Hanover, he gave a vivid account of what war means for individuals as well as for the church.

The church still plays an important role when life falls apart at the seams, such as during illness or war. These visits have shown us that. Yet, as always, we would of course also like to share the wonderful moments with you in the newsletter! One of these was the captivating concert reading with Judy Bailey and Patrick Depuhl.

An interesting read and God's blessing - Mungu akubariki
Yours
Dr Emmanuel Kileo
