Dear readers of the English version of our newsletter, from now on you can also have the ELM website automatically translated into English and other languages. Please use the small selection box at the top right of our website.

Dear friends of ELM!

The Christian faith is over 2000 years old. In comparison, 175 years is not a very long time. And yet they are a reason for us to celebrate. Because 175 years ago, Pastor Ludwig Harms laid the foundation stone in Hermannsburg for a movement that is now bearing fruit on almost every continent of the world.

Together with representatives of our global partner churches, we want to celebrate this at the Mission Festival in Hermannsburg from 21 to 23 June 2024. We cordially invite you all to join us now. The motto is "Building bridges together". Let yourself be enchanted by the sounds of the gospel choir AfroGospel Voices on the eve of the festival, experience worship services and dialogue formats with us that aim to bring us into contact with our brothers and sisters in faith worldwide.

We don't always have the opportunity to celebrate wonderful festivals. Nevertheless, at ELM we want to bring people together throughout the year in the spirit of the Christian faith. Our monthly newsletter is one way in which Christians around the world can network. Contribute to this, for example by forwarding this email to friends who are interested in our topics. They can then register directly as subscribers to the free newsletter at www.elm-mission.net/abo.

In this way, we hope to inspire even more people to become active as Lutheran Christians in the global church. Encounters, conversations, intercessions or even financial support for our "neighbours" can result from this. At the moment, we would like to draw particular attention to the plight of the flood victims in southern Brazil, for whom we are praying and collecting donations.

A blessed time - ubarikiwe - is my wish for you.
Yours in Christ,
Dr Emmanuel Kileo
