"It is a great task to learn to speak about faith in a language that is understandable to others", said one participant during an ELM seminar organised by the Evangelical Lutheran Mission in Lower Saxony (ELM): Under the title "God spoke clearly ...", Christians from Africa and Germany spoke about how they "bear witness" to their faith. Witnessing, speaking about faith and proclaiming the liberating power of the Gospel - this has been the driving force behind the work of the Hermannsburg Mission for 175 years. During this time, a global congregation has emerged that is constantly entering into dialogue across all cultural boundaries, treading common paths and living international church partnerships. ELM today has become a mouthpiece for its partner churches: It facilitates encounters, informs friends about its work and events and supports its partners in realising projects that benefit local people.
