Dear readers of the English version of our newsletter, from now on you can also have the ELM website automatically translated into English and other languages. Please use the small selection box at the top right of our website.
In times of crisis and anxiety about the future, faith and therefore also the churches are of immense importance. But is the Church always the way it should be? How much renewal is necessary in order to be understood in the present without losing touch with the Christian message? This is one of the issues at the ELM's partner church consultation, taking place from August 29 to September 4 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Events like these are time-consuming to prepare, but make sense because they enable direct encounters and dialogue on an equal footing. The same applies to the international youth encounter that the ELM is organising next year in cooperation with the Protestant Youth of the Hanover Regional Church. Parishes and church districts of our supporting churches are already invited to motivate young people in their international partnerships not to miss out on this attractive programme around the Kirchentag.
In this newsletter, we would like to recommend other events in Hermannsburg and Hanover: come to the Vesperkirche, to a concert/reading with Judy Bailey and Patrick Depuhl or to our autumn flea market. The work of the ELM lives from and with the people who are connected to it.
God's blessing - Baraka za Bwana - for the coming time
Yours,
Dr Emmanuel Kileo
