This newsletter reaches you in the middle of Holy Week - a special time of silence, reflection and hope.

Especially in this special time between suffering and hope, we want to reflect together - with texts, impulses and thoughts that encourage and connect. You will find some material on our website which accompanies us through Holy Week with a variety of suggestions from our international partner churches.

The Kirchentag in Hanover is also coming up soon now and we are looking forward to a colourful programme under the motto "courageous, strong, resolute" - the various ELM contributions to the programme can also be found on our website.

A few days ago, we informed you about staff changes at the ELM due to the departure of Director Dr Emmanuel Kileo. The position of ELM Director is to be filled. The Mission Board responsible for this has not yet decided on the timetable.

Let me conclude with a reference to the Indigenous People's Week in Brazil that is already underway - more on this in the newsletter.
